CONNECT WITH ELMM

About ELMM

ELMM began with a simple idea: that people whole systems - not job titles, not checkboxes, not endless motion.

Founded by Cassie Leonard, an aerospace engineer turned leadership coach and bestselling author, ELMM is is a community of people building careers, stories, and culture that actually work.

Our Philosophy

In engineering, potential energy is stored power—ready, waiting, and capable of incredible things once it finds direction.

That’s what ELMM helps people do: transform potential into meaningful motion.

But not motion for motion’s sake.

Not burnout masking itself as ambition.

Not a conveyor belt or pipeline that defines and constrains ‘success.’

  • Because somewhere along the way, we were told that growth only counts if it looks like up.

At ELMM, we challenge that idea.
Real success doesn’t come from climbing a conveyor belt—it comes from building systems that sustain you and the people you care about.

We believe your energy deserves direction, not just acceleration.

What sets ELMM apart

  • Our first core value is flexibility. We champion the engineering concept of design, build, test — a reminder to stay curious and keep iterating.

Flexibility shows up in our offerings, our customizable workshops, and our commitment to keeping every conversation client centered.

  • We are engineers.

In addition to loving quidditch, this comes with an unshakable ability to systematically work through even the toughest challenges.

From our robust research to our evidence-based coaching tools. we bring the best of engineering to career development, leadership, and storytelling.

  • We are driven by a passion to elevate underrepresented voices in STEMM.

We also know the reality — our clients often face a 17-40% pay gap based on gender, race, and other intersecting identities.

That’s why accessibility isn’t an afterthought. We design our pricing, publishing, and coaching programs with flexibility and fairness in mind.

  • “Hard is hard.”

Being a working parent is hard, no matter your title, your support system, or how great your kids are.

We support working parents navigate, from mom-guilt to boundaries and priority management. Whether you’re re-entering the paid workforce or debating if you really need to join the PTA, we’re here to help. We’ll help you find success in both your personal and professional life.

3 out of 10 women leave STEMM after having children. We know this stage can feel lonely. But it doesn’t have to be.

  • Every conversation eventually comes back to mentoring, and we love that.

We believe trusted professional partnerships are the most powerful way to build community and make nontraditional STEMM journeys visible.

If you’re ready to grow, whether as a mentor, mentee, or both, we’ll help you find your match and make it work.

Because mentorship isn’t a side conversation at ELMM.
    It’s part of our system.

The ELMM Ecosystem

What started as a conversation among engineers, leaders, moms, and mentors has grown into a full ecosystem of coaching, publishing, and learning that connects personal reflection to systemic change.

ELMM Coaching | Your intentional movement.

Coaching is where awareness begins. Through one-on-one and group programs, we help professionals reconnect with their values and value.

We offer executive coaching solutions for everyone, not just the C-suite, because everyone deserves access to tools to grow, lead, and live well.

ELMM Press | Your story amplified.

Dedicated to lifting up women, care givers, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and all marginalized ELMM Press builds a platform to amplify diverse stories in STEMM.

We publish hybrid projects, collaborative works, and voices from outside ELMM challenge old systems and celebrate new solutions.

ELMM Potential | Our shared energy.

Our learning and speaking community where ideas take root and voices rise together. Through workshops, speaker collaborations, and thought exchanges, ELMM Potential offers space to experiment, connect, get curious, intentionally fail, and grow — together.

Design, build, test, repeat.

ELMM helps people rediscover their worth, realign their energy, and create systems where both people and ideas can thrive.

Meet Cassie Leonard

Cassie (she/her) is an engineer, two-time bestselling author, and dedicated working parent with 19 years of experience in technical leadership and executive coaching. Through ELMM, she helps working parents and allies in STEMM grow fearlessly, connect wholeheartedly, and design careers that actually work.

Aerospace is at her roots. With degrees from UCLA and the University of Sheffield, she spent 16 years climbing the corporate ladder from entry-level analyst to Senior Aircraft Integration Leader. Today, she pairs that technical grit with mom skills to help clients reverse-engineer their own version of success.

  • As Editor and Lead Author of Beyond the Pipeline: Redefining Value, Success, and the Future of Women in STEMM — Together, Cassie collaborated with women and allies worldwide to create an insightful, practical, and action-oriented exploration of today’s technical workplaces. Beyond the Pipeline has been an international bestseller since its launch in August 2025. Her first book, STEM Moms: Design, Build, and Test to Create the Work-Life of Your Dreams, launched her into this global conversation with stories and solutions for solving the partial differential equations of life as a mother in a male-dominated industry.

Home is in the Pacific Northwest, where she lives with her husband Patrick and two sons. When she’s not coaching or writing, you’ll find her on the sand with a volleyball, on a mountain bike trail, or exploring the wilderness with friends on cross-country skis.
